I stayed in the Hilton, but yes, the Hanoi Pacific Hotel is quite nice.

Try the Pacific Hotel at the south of Hoem Kiem Lake in central Hanoi. Not far from the train station and some good shopping / Quan An Ngon restaurants. Cheers

I stayed at the Pacific back in 2006.
The room was small, but ok for two people at $25; not noisy at all, as it was on the 6th floor (they have a lift) and was clean and comfy with a/c and fan, t.v., refrig. The Staff was friendly and helpful. Higly recommend.
